In this beautifully illustrated book there is an essay on each month of the year giving a glimpse into the world of mammals birds reptiles amphibians insects fish inverterbrates and plants - the whole ecology developed over millions of years. The great forces are the four seasons and the rich habitat with each biome producing different vegetation types supporting different types of animals.
