Nature's Pause

Konkan has been blessed with nature; within such a nature-clad region is a place called Dapoli that is widely accepted as mini Mahabaleshwar. In a small village Kherdi of taluka Dapoli lives our family with a simple lifestyle. Despite an average financial condition our family has been fortunate enough to receive Goddess Saraswati’s blessings. All my grandfather my father my uncle being in the profession of priesthood there have been continuous rituals of Ved Vidya in the family. My mother was constantly yearning for her children’s hurdle-less education by earning livelihood with indifferent frame of mind and supporting the family against all the odds. To add to the family income she was guiding us to run several enterprises like vegetable growing milk business putting up stall at village festivals and fairs selling sharbats lassi pedhas etc. She was teaching me and my siblings the lessons of independence and self-respect. It was her insistence that all her children should be well-versed with everything from their father’s profession. For this she took lot of efforts for all of us to complete our education. She always backed us.
