Neglect

Following his utter failure to function in 'the real world' (as his mother insists on referring to it) Gabriel Fortune survives his second attempt at life by living in squats tagging along with new-age travellers and finally by moving back alone to the family home where he eventually dies peacefully in the garden shed. The afterlife that follows however is not peaceful. Although he no longer has to worry about dying of cold or hunger he is forced to revisit the failures and defeats hopes and schemes of a life he thought he was well rid of. In particular he has to face up to his lamentable record with women. ‘Neglect’ is the second of four volumes of the novel 'Fruition'.
