Negotiating the Thousand Glories

<p>'Vishnu Sahasranama' or 'The thousand names of Vishnu' is a chant that echoes across India and abroad. It is recited and listened to by hundreds and thousands of people young and old healthy and infirm in households and temples all over the country and abroad. While chanting and listening to the Vishnu Sahsranama is extremely popular and while many of the chanters even know these shlokas by heart there are very few who know the meanings of these shlokas. The objective of this book is to widen the reach of the Vishnu Sahasranama by making it easier more relatable and interesting because of the simple English meanings assigned to the shlokas and the anecdotal stories woven into and around it.</p>
