<p>This book reimagines the story of the Water Margin heroes focusing on their recruitment by the imperial court and subsequent fate. By a twist of fate the Liangshan outlaws accept the amnesty offered by Zhang Shuye and devote themselves to serving the nation. They plunge into the struggle against treacherous court officials and invading Jin forces. Amid devastating conflicts and wars the heroes meet their ends one by one. The narrative concludes after the Jingkang Incident with most Liangshan heroes meeting tragic fates. Yet unlike in the original Water Margin their deaths here carry a profound sense of heroic righteousness.</p><p>本书以《水浒传》作为蓝本，重新改写了梁山好汉被招安及招安后的经过。梁山好汉机缘巧合被张叔夜招安，投诚后致力于报效国家，积极投身于与祸国权臣、金人的斗争中。在惨烈的权力斗争与战争中，好汉们一一死去，故事在靖康之耻之后结尾，梁山好汉大多仍未摆脱惨淡收场的结局，但比起原作《水浒传》，本书中的梁山好汉身上多了些死得其所的意味。</p>
