New Concepts in Management of Around Knee Fractures

About The Book

Patellofemoral pain syndrome (PBT) causes pain in front of and around your kneecap. This syndrome is sometimes called Runner's knee and is more common in people who participate in sports that involve running and jumping. Knee pain often worsens when you are running going up or down stairs sitting for long periods of time or squatting. Simple treatments such as rest and ice often help but sometimes physical therapy is necessary to reduce patellofemoral pain. Patellofemoral stress syndrome which causes damage to the cartilage under the patella is more common in young women. Any factor that causes the patella bone (patella) to be in a more external position than the normal position causes patellofemoral stress syndrome or knee patella pain syndrome. Disturbances in the alignment of the lower limbs (biomechanical disorders of the lower limbs) for example due to Genova gum excessive rotations of the lower leg etc. can facilitate the process of PFPS. This pain is caused by irritation of the area where the patella of the knee is placed on the femur.
