New York Historical Manuscripts

This is a complete and annotated translation of a record book that includes the Protocol or minute book of the Old First Reformed Church of Brooklyn the earliest church record and one of the oldest record books in New York State. The diversity of subjects dealt with in this translation are remarkable. Contents include minutes of the consistory; registers of baptisms marriages and members of the congregation; accounts of the deaconry and other financial records; cows leased for the benefit of the poor; and orphans' records.
