The multi-layered plot of News To Die For is a thriller a mystery and a love story that spans nearly three decades. Megan Lafferty is the great granddaughter of the founder of The Tucson Independent a daily newspaper in Tucson Arizona owned by the Lafferty family. At age five she decides she will be the publisher when she grows up. She has no clue about the challenges she will face in the future-newspapers in decline and The Tucson Independent near bankruptcy. In addition there will be family problems-a father who thinks women are best suited as homemakers and a stepmother who treats Meghan like a Cinderella during her years at home and who also is the papers business manager.
