As the black sheep of a prominent family author Michael Eliot Mehler endures a twisted dysfunctional childhood. At the age of eleven he is molested causing him to have thoughts of suicide. His overbearing mother's insistence on therapy leads him to a lifetime of analysis and does little to curb his tendency toward self-destruction.</P><P>When he becomes an adult Mehler embarks on a career of crime.
