Not surprisingly Western propaganda portrays these new African leaders as merely the vulgar leaders of military coups when in reality it is the people who are kicking the French military out of their countries. In Niger: Just Another Coup or a Pan-African Revolution? Anfruns analyzes the history and politics of the Sahel region honing in on Niger a country endowed with colossal mineral resources yet hindered by a legacy of colonialism and neoliberalism that has made true development impossible. But in the face of Western exploitation Pan-African unity is showing a new path forward.</p>
