<p>Who would have thought that a mysterious and powerful man who <i>chose</i> to go by the name Mephisto would be more than meets the eye? I did! And yet I still wasn't prepared for what I discovered about him.</p><p>He's a wildcard. But with so many people wanting me dead I need all the friends I can get.</p><p>My life is quickly becoming a cornucopia of crap and I don't need any more enemies or any more trouble. Yet somehow I manage to get both when the most powerful vampire in the city hires me for a job. </p><p>At first it seems simple enough. All I have to do is negotiate the acquisition of a weapon that can kill his kind faster than a stake to the heart-without betraying my client or pissing off a vampire especially the Master of the City.</p><p>Of course being the overachiever that I am I unintentionally betray my client and piss off the Master of the City.</p><p>Now I have a mere seventy-two hours to fix my mistakes or the Master will claim my life as payment for my failure. And he's made it clear there won't be any renegotiations.</p>
