About The Book

Martin Luther a professor of moral theology at the University of Wittenberg in Germany wrote the Ninety-Five Theses or Disputation on the Power of Indulgences in 1517. It was the beginning of the Reformation a split in the Catholic Church that fundamentally altered Europe. They support Luther's arguments against the clergy's sale of plenary indulgences which were documents believed to lessen the temporal punishment for sins committed by the buyers or their loved ones in purgatory. Luther saw this practise as abusive and opposed it.
