Set in Dubai the novel ‘NIRJAL SARSIJ’ explores the relationships between mother and daughter. There are 3 mothers and 3 daughters whose stories run simultaneously sometimes and separately at times. Shyamala-Nalini Nalini-Anushka and Dityangna-Ritambhra are entirely different stories that run on their own merits problems and circumstances but ultimately collide on one and the same point. The protagonist Nalini is a daughter that has everything yet still nothing. As fate would have it she loses everything and gains so little in return. She has no home of her own and wanders from place to place never staying too long in a single place. Her limitations restrict her so much that she is not able to develop her own thoughts clearly. She is not able to take life decisions with clarity in mind without being led by others. Her patience prudence devotion and intelligence helped her to grow in life. Her awful life turns wonderful due to her daughter’s support and she finds a whole new perspective to understand her mothers point of view.
