When you hear of a photo book on Mongolian Nomads you may imagine a book featuring images of people living on the steppe and handling livestock. But instead this book focuses on the relationships between nomadic people and their belongings. What kinds of objects exist in their living world? How do nomadic people recognize and treat those objects? This book describes the daily lives of Mongolian nomads through their material culture a topic which has not seen much attention until now. Using data collected through cultural anthropology fieldwork this book features photos of one nomadic family and their belongings alongside narratives told by the various family members about those belongings.
