Non-linear Optical Properties of Novel Schiff Base Molecules

About The Book

Organic NLO Schiff bases containing imine bonds (C=N) have been investigated as optoelectronic and electrochemical materials liquid crystals. Aromatic π-systems in the backbone and the sp 2 hybridization of the nitrogen and carbon atoms of the imine group can extend the conjugation of the structure and increase their hole-transporting ability. Completely aromatic Schiff bases have interesting properties like semiconduction and others. These kinds of Schiff bases are becoming excellent candidates as active materials for solar cells light-emitting diodes (LEDs) organic field-effect transistors (OFETs) devices and organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) photovoltaic cells and pH sensors due to their electro chromic properties among other applications. Present books deals with the literature survey along with single crystal growth of four Schiff base crystal molecules as well as its detail structural optical characterizations. The NLO behaviour via Z- scan study summarized in the book. Theoretically using DFT compared with experimental results and its analysis discussed in detailed.
