Nonlinear Response of flexible shell/membrane structures to blast load
English

About The Book

This research work presents the finite element (FE)modeling and dynamic response of Inflatable thinhighly flexible shell/membrane structures to blastload with application to collective protectionsystems. Temper Tents have pressurized CollectiveProtection System (CPS)(liner system) fitted toframe structures provide protection againstexplosives and other harmful agents. These systemsare being tested for the force protection standardsagainst the explosions like air-blast.A nonlinear finite element analysis of shell/membranestructure is sought to computationally simulate theresponse of Temper tents. ANSYS a commercial finiteelement software is used here for this purpose.Nonlinear static and transient analysis is performedand dynamic response in terms of displacement historyand dynamic stresses is computed. Designconsiderations are made based on the parametricdesign study.
