Throughout North America cities are strategically planning their own economic development activities and establishing relations and linkages with other cities. This book explores how cities are emerging as important actors in the international economy. The contributors address: the politics of international engagement; cities and their relations with the international economy; cross-border interaction and networking in North America; and perspectives on internationalization.
