Rohan Chakraborty lives in a small village near Darjeeling in the eastern Himalayas (which is patiently waiting to become a tiny town someday) and wrIt's from there.

‹His move to the mountains (in 2018) was greatly inspired by the life and works of Ruskin Bond - the noted Indian writer of BrIt'sh descent. Ever since I read him first - he says - in my early twenties sitting at a semi-dark cobwebby corner of a government library in Assam I had been fostering in the innermost recesses of my heart a desire that'someday I would follow in his footsteps that I would live in the mountains and write from there.

His debut book Notes from the Himalayas is a collection of journals poems and short stories - written in an easy autobiographical manner - based on the odd incidents that take place in the laid-back life of a sleepy village in the Himalayas... and some of his musings perceptions and understanding of many aspects of life.

The author believes readers willlovethe simple notes poems and stories in this book. He has scribbled a series of poems delineating the various stages of aloveaffair. And speaking of the stories - all set in a sleepy himalayan hamlet - the author would like to particularly mention loveat the Pub' which the readers may find quite engrossing.

It's a book you wouldloveto keep on your bedside table or under the pillow... and read not once but over and over again.
