There is no enlightenment without consciousness and no higher consciousness without an understanding of ethics which must follow an advance in the development of reason. Incluso podríamos decir que la ética es la contrapartida griega al estudio del concepto indio de dharma o la comprensión de la relación entre las causas la conciencia y sus efectos. El estudio de la ética no es sólo un estudio de la moral sino un importante avance hacia nuestra propia conciencia. Cuanto más sepamos sobre lo que nos hace morales o inmorales mejores serán nuestras elecciones y más cerca estaremos de una vida con sentido y alegría. No hay iluminación sin conciencia y no hay conciencia superior sin comprensión de la ética que debe seguir a un avance en el desarrollo de la razón.
