Numerical modeling and remote sensing

In recent years the Upper Paraguay river basin has suffered from several extreme hydrological events of drought and flooding causing a great deal of economic and social damage. To try to predict and better understand hydrological phenomena in advance Brazil has the National Hydrometeorological Network (RHN). This research aims to provide useful information for monitoring floods and droughts and for managing water resources proposing the use of remote sensing data and hydrological modeling as tools that can help with this as well as evaluating the hydrological data obtained from the network of conventional stations in the Upper Paraguay river basin.
