Nursery Rhymes for an Improvable World

<p><p>The <i>Queen of Hearts</i> she found some tarts...so what as a reform-minded twenty-first century feminist did she do with them? And when Tom Tom the Piper's son stole a pig and ran away with it how would the modern age handle this young delinquent? What has gone wrong today with <i>The House that Jack Built?</i> Will technology-based health care for the elderly take proper care of <i>Old Mother Hubbard?</i> Many of the centuries old Nursery Rhymes reflect the times in which they were first recited. Here they are in a new jacket rewritten for our own day--still with their traditional blend of humour and satire--a little gentle criticism of the world we live in (with its food fads bureaucracy commercialism racial divides and environmental problems) and here and there a touch of nostalgia. not quite for the nursery but for adults who remember how innocent it once seemed.</p><p><br clear=all><A NAME=goto2></A><HR ALIGN=LEFT>
