Nurses' Knowledge and Practice of Wounds

Cutaneous wounds especially chronic ones are a serious public health problem due to their high prevalence difficulty in healing high recurrence rates causing a high socio-economic impact in terms of costs to the health and social security system in terms of professional care use of therapeutic resources for healing absenteeism from work and reduced quality of life related to daily and leisure activities. This study shows that nurses have the knowledge to treat wounds but there are deficits on the subject and continuing education is necessary to avoid inappropriate and outdated behaviour.
