Nurses' representations in parenteral nutrition care

About The Book

Parenteral nutrition (PN) at home is a specialised and complex treatment associated with multiple complications. This justifies recommendations for good practice. However some nurses perform this care without any specific training. Aims and objectives: To improve the quality of NP care at home. To identify barriers to recognition of the specificity of NP care. There is a lack of knowledge of the field of clinical nutrition and of the expert with non-specific care practice. The general attitude of the team is unfavourable towards a change in practice. The team appears to be motivated to maintain what they consider to be specific and optimal care. It is important to organise a theoretical and practical training programme using evidence to explain the risks of NP.
