Nursing care in prenatal care has been recognized as an effective strategy in promoting maternal and child health. The present study aims to understand the nursing care performed during prenatal care in a Basic Health Unit in the municipality of Pindaré-Mirim. This is a descriptive study with a quantitative and qualitative approach on nursing care performed with 28 pregnant women. The results show that 71.43% of pregnant women are between 18 and 30 years old 75% of them are single 50% have only high school 53.7% have 3 or more children. The findings indicate that 56.7% and 43.3% respectively refer to excellent care and access at the UBS. As for satisfaction 46.7% of the participants had revealed excellent and 78.6% reported no problems in relation to appointment time and location of services. The present study concludes by calling the attention of public authorities and health professionals to adopt measures that speed up the appointment process and expand the coverage of services in more remote geographical areas contributing to the improvement of prenatal care for pregnant women.
