Of Brothers

Sgt. Dan Patron of the United States Marine Corps was killed on August 6 2011 while attempting to diffuse an IED in Sangin Afghanistan. He was my brother. Over time the best way to curb my anger and sadness was to write down my thoughts and feelings. Of Brothers: Poetry Inspired by the Life and Death of My Hero is a collection of these raw emotions. In this collection I ponder how I will keep Dan's name alive explain the tragedy to my children one day and simply learn how to live again. Of Brothers is poetry about death and trying to uncover hope in the darkest of places. Of Brothers contains adult themes and language and is not appropriate for children.
