Of the Spirit

Of the Spirit is a novel of the historical fiction genre. The story begins in a Latin American dictatorship of the 1970’s and concludes after a dramatic rescue attempt in the Middle East during the Persian Gulf War. The three principal characters are strong and liberated women whose lives and stories begin to unfold when we meet them living under the strict rule of a military regime. They are Adela the mother and her daughters Marta and Laura. Their lives as women in the fight for human rights and democracy as depicted in this work is not uncommon in this setting of violence and abuse which has been present since the time of the conquest.
