Ohio Development & Postal History 1790-1816

The award-winning postal history exhibit of classic Ohio material created by Richard H. Parker. Along with the letters themselves the exhibit provides information about the letter's orgins postal rates markings postal routes and other information about early Ohio post offices. Presented chronologically the exhibit traces the growth and development of early Ohio through the spread of post offices and postal communications. The book includes a supplemental introduction placing postal history into a broader historical context as well as a table listing details of Ohio post offices established prior to May 1 1816 among other appendices.
