On anthropology in Jean-Jacques Rousseau

The work before us reflects the privileged destination of Jean-Jacques Rousseau's philosophy of promoting better knowledge of humanity. The anthropological vocation dates back to Antiquity where it originated in Delphic graffiti. In other words following the history of philosophy the theme of all anthropology seems to join the Socratic recommendation if not the imperative instruction. What could this inscription mean? Indeed we do not have an answer as simple as an autobiography as a reflection on oneself.However Rousseauist anthropology takes a decisive step because it undertakes to discuss with its fellow human beings all the situations in which they find themselves. It highlights the value the nature the destination of man. Rousseau sees himself beyond his limits that is to say those of his self where he transports his inner experience into the notion of humanity.
