About The Book

John Milton's poem On Time has twenty-two lines one stanza and consistently alternates groups of four lines. The lines rhyme in the following order: ababcddceeffgghhiijkkj when read in their entirety. Milton makes use of a number of different ending sounds in this work but he has opted to repeat each one. This is done to ensure that the poem's structural sounds are consistent while also ensuring that the structure's visual manifestations are different. One will not be able to foresee the rhymes' arrangement as they appear in On Time or whether they will ever cease.
