Once Upon A Train

<p><strong>The author's story</strong> is a candid and occasionally amusing recollection of 4 decades of a working life. </p><p>He commenced his working life as an apprentice. A commitment of five years that enabled learning a trade that eventually opened the door to other roles. </p><p>With self-belief in lifelong learning both formal and informal the opportunities within this benevolent bureaucracy enabled a degree of progression. Some taken some missed but all rounded the man. He was a witness to the modernisation of the Victorian Railways from the era of a family styled bureaucracy to a privatised entity. With or without a ticket it was quite a ride. </p><p><br></p><p>Dennis Denman Department No. 15026.</p>
