Open Secret

For as long as I can remember Ive been a storyteller. From the made up stories I told my siblings at bedtime the imaginary play I would do with my preschool students to experimenting with writing short stories as a teenager. As I got older I became influenced by a lot of artists: Taylor Swift Lana del Rey the Beatles Lorde and so many others. I loved the way these artists expressed themselves and poured their personal experience into beautiful songs. This inspired me to write down my own feelings into poetry. It became a way of therapy for me. The titles of these poems can be either in relation to the person they are about or what I was feeling at the time. A moment captured. With the sudden loss of my brother two years ago I wanted to use my poems as a way of helping others. If someone can relate to my poems in some way and if it helps them I will consider myself a great success.
