Open Wards White Coats

This memoir reviews a young doctor's journey through a four year residency at a large New York City hospital in the mid-1970s. The times were different and so was medicine. Fellow residents medical school faculty nurses and patients are all part of the mix as the author describes his efforts to become a doctor. The stories portray the difficulty of medical training but also reflect the occasional strange and humorous situations encountered in a busy city hospital.
