Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a valuable tool which can non-invasively help not only clinicians but also materials scientists and practitioners of various other fields. The relatively high costs of OCT instruments can be a deterrent to the application of OCT in academic settings. In work done at the Department of Physics Sri Sathya Sai Institute of higher learning deemed to be University located in a rural area of Anantapur district Andhra Pradesh India we have attempted to make OCT more accessible by exploring options to lower costs. This book is an adaptation of a PhD thesis which explores this field.
