Orange and lemon: the power of antioxidants

This work aimed to analyze and describe the antioxidant activity of fresh orange and lemon pulp and to analyze and determine the amount of total phenolic compounds in these pulps in the presence of organic solvents.It was concluded that for the quantification of phenolic compounds and determination of antioxidant capacity in fresh orange pulp the acetonic extract in this work was the one that obtained better results compared to the other extracts. For the fresh lemon pulp there were two extracts that stood out for the determination of the amount of phenolic compounds the aqueous extract was more efficient while for the determination of the antioxidant capacity the acetone extract showed more expressive results compared to the others solvents.
