The book presents an analysis of the extensive scientific activities of the Society for the Study of the Kazakh Territory. Scientific public organizations that emerged in pre-revolutionary Russia played a huge role in the process of formation of science education and enlightenment. Most of the natural-geographical historical and socio-economic information about the past of the Ural region has been preserved in the presented research materials of the scientific society.
