About The Book

This paper evaluated the most important aspects needed to build these skills based on the perspectives of organizational psychologists. The important soft skills previously identified as important to Engineers through a Systematic Literature Review were grouped into core groups. These formed the basis for the development of a questionnaire used to assess organizational psychologists'' perceptions of each soft skill in terms of Engineering performance. The results corroborate the idea that soft skills are important for the professional performance of the Engineer and are directly linked to the multidisciplinarity of the area. The results also suggest the urgent need to increase the exchange between market and academia and to reformulate Engineering curricula to reflect the demands of an increasingly challenging and competitive labor market.
