Origins

After the conclusion of the cataclysmic War of Magic the Lord of Light imprisoned His last enemy. The remaining First Ones joined with some of the survivors of the People and begat children. The Lord of Light gifted magic to those children and their descendants so that they could find serve and protect the other scattered survivors. At that time they were known as the Rykatean people (meaning 'Gifted people' in the language of the First Ones) because all had all seven Gifts of Power.
