Obstructive sleep apnea is A Sleep disorder characterized by recurrent episodes of narrowing or collapse of pharyngeal airway during sleep despite ongoing breathing efforts. Repeated episodes of partial or complete upper airway obstruction during sleep . Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a public health problem and a potentially life-threatening condition . Orthodontists should play an active role in screening of patients for this disease and advise oral appliance therapy if needed.
