Osmotin gene overexpression in Nicotiana for abiotic stress tolerance

The aim of the work was to create transgenic plants that can with stand abiotic stress such as drought and salinity. As the climatic conditions are changing we need plants that can grow in adverse conditions. The present work explains the methodology adopted for creating transgenic Nicotiana plants having osmotin gene so that they can withstand the salinity stress. This approach can be used in other important crops also.
