At the High Tech High North County Village in San Marcos California 11th grade students worked together with kindergarten buddies on an environmental adventure. Each group of students worked throughout the school year on reading writing art and exploring nature. All students took a field trip to the lagoon at the San Dieguito River and studied the native organisms around the area and conducted field studies and a BioBlitz. The 11th grade students then went back to school and created stories about the interactions between native plants and animals in both their biology class in Alec Patton's humanities class and with the kindergarten buddies in Kari Shelton and Shelley Glen Lee's classes.
