He graduated from Wynford High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Kent State University in 1969. During his college years he gained early professional experience through an internship with S.D. Leidesdorf & Co. in New York City and a work-study position at Butlin's Holiday Camp in Clacton-on-Sea England.</p><p>Following graduation Ron was drafted into the U.S. Army and served with the 175th Finance Section of the 1st Armored Division at Fort Hood Texas. After completing his military service he worked in manufacturing before joining the Peace Corps serving in Malaysia from 1975 to 1976.</p><p>Prior to departing for Malaysia a close friend encouraged Ron to accompany him on a motorcycle journey to El Salvador. On the return both their bikes broke down in Veracruz and they had to sell them and return the rest of the way by bus but the experience remains a memorable chapter in their lives.</p><p>Upon returning to the United States from Malaysia Ron moved to the West Coast where he lived for seven years. He accepted seasonal work at Yosemite National Park before relocating to San Diego and later taking a position with the City of Anaheim. While living in San Diego Ron made a life-changing decision to accept Jesus Christ into his life and later graduated from the Christ-centered Adult and Teen Challenge program in Riverside California. Before during and after his time in California he experienced several hospitalizations related to what was later diagnosed as bipolar disorder-challenges he has faced with honesty resilience and strength.</p><p>Ron returned to Ohio in the mid-1980s attending Trinity Lutheran Seminary before beginning a long and fulfilling career in public service. He held positions at The Ohio State University and the State of Ohio retiring in 2005 with twenty-five years of credited service.</p><p>Ron is blessed to have shared over thirty years with his life partner Judith Judy Keiser. Together they have travelled extensively visiting every continent except Antarctica. A longtime resident of Columbus Ohio Ron continues to reflect on and write about the extraordinary journey that life has taken him on.</p><p></p>
