Ovarian Cancer: Molecular and Immunological Study of Angiogenesis

About The Book

Tumor angiogenesis is regulated by the production of angiogenic stimulators including several members of angiogenic factors. Angiogenesis has been implicated in affecting outcomes in human cancer and several studies show a correlation between production of angiogenesis factors and relapse metastasis and poor prognosis in human cancer patients. This book aim to focus on the role of certain angiogenic factors (VEGF and IL8) by studying different molecular and immunological aspects of these two factors and their receptors. These factors may be potential targets to interfere with tumor growth and metastasis formation and play a role in the pathology of ovarian cancer. This book also shed light on their usefulness as diagnostic markers for early detection in a comparison with tumor marker CA125.
