The printing industry is one of the largest and most geographically diverse manufacturing industries in the world. The extreme risks linked together with this industry consequent to use of the chemicals whose ingredients are not always clearly visible on their original packaging. Biomonitoring of exposure to chemicals in the workplace is an essential tool for assessing risks to human health and improving occupational safety. Adverse health effects associated with exposure to organic solvents through inhalation and skin contact in the workplace include irritation or sensitivity of the skin and respiratory system. Long-term health effects may harm the nervous system and internal organs such as liver kidneys lungs etc. after they are absorbed into the body. Furthermore organic solvents may also depress the central nervous system with effects such as drowsiness lack of consistency inattention and imbalance.The present study aims to know the effect of chemicals used in the printing industry on oxidative stress and liver and kidney functions in workers'' blood samples in addition to study the effect of chemicals on lipid peroxide and antioxidant enzymes.
