I once asked my friend’s five-year-old son “Who is a stranger?” He said “The one who behaves strangely.” It definitely didn’t fit the bill of a stranger as perceived by grown-ups isn’t it? Perception varies from person to person. Like for instance you are experiencing a mayhem of emotions in your head; who do you turn to to open up and seek sanity? The obvious perceptual reply would be—your best buddy that special someone. Always? Haven’t you ever opened up to a stranger like a book without the fear of being judged? Well it has happened to me. Pages is a result of such memorable and exceptionally intriguing rendezvous I had had with strangers who poured their hearts to me in their first interactions. Trusting a stranger with your emotions many won’t fathom. But I can surely speak for myself and I have done that in this book. A few chapters of Pages - From the City of Guilt is a mild adaptation of stories from my play Pages—a few chapters from my life that won the best Original script award in the Junction Community Theater Festival in 2018. Each story simple or complex delves into the depth of human emotions. Many have asked me “What genre does this book belong to?” I say “It’s ‘True Fiction’.” The rest… I leave to your imagination.
