Painting the Lily and Other Poems

There are many people writing poetry today but sadly too few poets. The truth of this should become evident as you read through this latest of Politanos collection of poems. Painting the Lily is his second book of poetry. The Man and the Moon and Other Poems also published by AuthorHouse in 2005 contains 148 his poems. In this current collection his poetical precepts remain unchanged and are revealed in the preface where he says: ... poetry like all art should be enjoyed by the greatest number of people ... it shouldnt be so personal so arcane recondite ... that no one except yourself or the person for whom you wrote it ... can understand it well enough to be able to appreciate it.
