Strong relationships between parents and children parents and schools parents and other parents as well as teachers and parents are key contributors to positive academic outcomes for children. Children whose parents actively participate in educational activities such as guiding learning at home assisting with homework providing feedback and supplying learning tools tend to demonstrate higher academic performance and achieve better grades. Conversely when parents were less involved in their children negative outcomes emerged: enrollment rates declined graduation percentages dropped dropout rates increased and grade repetition became more common.
