PARIPASSU

In Latin pari means equal; passu means equal step. Here Jay Harden combines them into one word Paripassu to mean walking together side-by-side hand-in-hand. This is how he and his first wife Carolyn lived their life. They met each other as young teens in 1958 married in 1965 and when she died in 1987 at age 42 they had raised two children and spent almost 30 years together. As Jay puts it It was the start of a great adventure that seemed to last a very short time. In this second edition of this very poignant and very accomplished collection of poems Jay Harden celebrates his first love and expresses his gratitude for having met the woman who was to forever change his life.
