Part Time Politics

We all at some point struggle with the mental battle between passion and profession. A part-time passion and a full-time profession is a foolproof solution. It acts as a bridge between your heart and mind. Doing something meaningful for society and the nation and finding the right platform is a very complex task. Many of us have this passion. The Anna movement and the Aam Aadmi Party that emerged from it provided us with a suitable platform in this battle of passion versus profession and made us part-time politicians. Are there advantages or disadvantages to part-time politics? Can any party where more than 90 percent of volunteers are part-time succeed in politics?The author is a Senior Software Developer at a multinational company. Born in the Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh he began his career with Oracle after obtaining an engineering degree in 2011. He was deeply influenced by the India Against Corruption movement and had the opportunity to join in September 2011. Since then he has been involved in social activism and with the formation of the Aam Aadmi Party he began engaging in political activism. He worked in the public ration system and conceptualized and organized various movements in Mumbai.He played a key role in several projects of the Delhi government's education department such as the School Management Committee Mission Buniyaad Parents' Dialogue and more. In 2021-22 he served as the Chairperson of Maitreyi College Delhi University. He worked as a member of the Delhi government's Education Task Force and is currently leading the School Management Committee in Delhi.
