Cultural heritage is a much-discussed topic today and is increasingly becoming a focus of urban planning. This paper deals with Turkish cultural heritage and how it is communicated in the Kottbusser Tor redevelopment area. The main focus is on the question of whether conceptual solutions for communicating this cultural heritage can be developed from the planning approach of the integrated district development concept for Kreuzberg-Nordost. The aim is to promote closer coexistence between the Turkish and German populations by communicating Turkish cultural heritage thereby minimising spatial and social conflicts and encouraging cultural and interest-based exchange.
