Pasture consumption in the semiarid region: how to estimate them

The semi-arid region represented by shrub arboreal and herbaceous species in its great majority constituting the main source of fodder for the current herds that live in these areas. Calculating the consumption of fodder in these areas has been a great challenge for current research due to several factors that interfere to obtain a result close to the actual consumption.The proposal of this book is to bring to the knowledge of students technicians teachers and researchers various techniques for estimating the consumption of grazing animals in the semi-arid an environment where there is a wide variety of fodder plants used by animals and which makes it difficult to quantify the actual amount of fodder consumed. The book also shows the importance of knowing the factors that can influence consumption and understand the ingestive behavior of animals within an area so diverse as the Semiarid.
